What is Docang ?
Have you ever heard about it?

Docang is a traditional food from Cirebon. I only can find it in this area.
Docang is Indonesian rice cake (lontong) being cut + bean sprout + shredded coconut + shredded cassava + special soup (clear white soup a little bit salty and savory)+ aci crackers + chili

The taste of docang is very authentic and I cannot find it anywhere else.

My visit : 

I ate this docang on September 27, 2015.
I went to Cirebon with my family (mom, dad, bro, sis in law, and my niece) to have a weekend gate away and enjoying delicious traditional food at Cirebon. We usually go to Cirebon by car through Sukamandi and Jatibarang and it takes like 8 hours or more, but now there is a new highway direct from Jakarta to Cirebon named Cipali. It only takes 3-4 hours .. wohooo so happy!
But the disadvantage is we cannot buy yellow rice at Jatibarang which open from midnight until morning. yeah maybe next time. That will be another story.

Anyway, I heard this docang is the best in town. So make sure you come here when you visit Cirebon city.
The taste was amazing .. It was salty, savory, plain at the same time! wow.. and It was cheap! Delicious food not always expensive right?

     With pork meat or seafood
     I tried fried pork kwetiau that day. The line was long even it was weekday and before dinner time.
    The long queue told me that I need to try this one and yes I had no regret by trying this.
    The kwetiau was really delicious! fried well without oil excess that could ruin the taste.
    The pork thin sliced along with the fried pork fat combined with the vinegar chilli were blend well in my         mouth like a real champion of Medan Food.

   Price : 38k

2.  Soto Medan Ayam 

Price : around 45k with rice

Taste : So So not so special but the chicken meat was moist

Hygiene : Not to clean , flies were everywhere! :( 

3.  Tape Duren 

Price : around 30k (I guess- forget)

Taste : Quite good but not that special .. I don't like king of fruit so I cannot give you the best objective opinion

4. Lekker cake

    Too bad I don't have the picture of it. I ate this traditional snack at night so I was not able to take a good       picture. The lekker was different than the original lekker. It was more like crepe than lekker. You can           choose lekker with banana and chocolate, lekker with nutela, etc (modern fillings). Price approx. 30k per     5 pcs

5. Es Cendol Bandung 

    hmmm,,, I can say that this was not the one to buy. This one was too mushy and too sweet too with a lot       of ice     inside :(

6. Lapo Ni TonDong Ta Senayan 

    I can say the best Panggan B2 so far ... 35k for small single portion without rice. 

7. Pempek Beringin Khas Palembang

I can Say the pempek was not too special either. But the way they were making the lenggang was quite unique and draw attention.( Using Banana Leaf) 

Still a lot of food to try, some are the same tenant from the previous year and some are brand new..

I visited this restaurant with my junior high school friends, we gathered here in farewell occasion for our beloved friend Anastasia. She went to Canada yesterday ( Sept 2, 2015) to enjoying her new marriage life.
Surprisingly this coffee shop sells a lot of good vegetarian food and especially the best vegetarian red soup that I have ever tasted in my life.
Most of you must be wondering what is vegetarian red soup..I used to eat the red soup with the name songsui (based on information that I get, originally not vegetarian but I usually eat the vegetarian). It consists of lettuce, angkak (I don't know the English name) that we use in Chinese food to get the red color and it is good for our health, tofu, etc. The taste is a little sour but also sweet and savory. Great when you eat together with rice and suddenly you feel more energized than before :p

This is what red soup looks like.. served with red rice and soy sauce and chopped chilli

We also ordered some other food such as spaghetti bolognese , sate padang, mashed potato and vegan bread with nuts and chocolate .. I can say all of it were surprisingly good! In fact really delicious. I really want to come back for the same taste.

My Visit : 

When the euphoria still on, I went there on the weekend with my university friends and we couldn't get a table so we decided to move other coffee shop. 

On my second visit, I chose weekdays and went there with my junior high friends. The place was not too crowded at 6pm and got more visitor above 7pm. 

At that time there was a special promo after 6pm for green tea latte or hot chocolate. I only paid for the drink 20k. I chose green tea latte with the messy latte art :( and my friend choose hot chocolate with leafs art

( I don't get it why the barista couldn't give us a proper latte art.. sighh... )

For cold drink, my other friend (Eren) tried the Kori kohi. so the coffee was served as ice cubes and we poured fresh milk and mixed it together. 

The kori kohi was horrible. We couldn't taste the coffee at all.. the taste was bland :(

the green tea latte also too sweet and the barista said they are using packed green tea so they couldn't reduce the sweetness. another SIGH.. 

the hot chocolate also gave the same too sweet taste .. but the barista said next time they can reduce the sweetness by adding more dark chocolate into it. yeah well.. until next time then (if any)

My friends said the totoro cake is very popular here and taste good but unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try because it was sold out :( 

Beside the food and beverage, I can say that the place was really nice to do chit chat and taking  pictures. 

Price : hmm a little bit overpriced because the portion of the servings are small and the taste is not as I expected :(

We supposed to watch a movie that night,, Eren was craving for the movie so bad,,, unfortunately the others were too lazy to go to the cinema. Fifi went home early and Gary and me decided to go to Eren's home and lay down lazy like a puppy :p

It felt like we were back to the old time ^_^

let us hang out again soon together (4 or even 5 of us before Fifi moves to other country too :( )
